Content shoot: film your inspections like a pro

A quick 20-minute course. Our reports show the inspection; this course teaches the second thing that grows your business and ours: clean, steady, professional clips that bring more cars to be inspected and more brand awareness.

Watch first: how to film the content for every car

Step by step: ask the customer first, then film the car, the inspection, the damaged parts and a quick interview. No editing needed.

And what sharing content means

This is how your clips can look on a phone

A sample 30-second vertical reel made from a typical inspection.

Why this course exists

  • Your report photos stay in your report. For our marketing we do not use the exact photos and videos you upload for the report. We want professionally shot content, filmed the way this course teaches.
  • Good content reaches more cars to be inspected and builds brand awareness. That is how Cardiagnos and every inspector grow.
  • No faces, names, phone numbers or number plates. We only use what you and your customer agree to.
  • You do not need special equipment. Your own iPhone or smartphone is enough. It is the skills that make the content good, not the gear.
  • Sharing is optional and changes our commission. On customers who book through our website and whom you accept, we take 15% if you share content and 20% if you keep it private. Customers you bring yourself are always 100% yours, whatever you choose.

The shoot in one look

Six camera positions, about ten short clips. Number 1 is the steady phone; the others follow the car through the inspection.

1 · Set up: a steady phone at a good angle

  • Put the phone on a tripod or stand (or a stable surface). Never hold it for these shots.
  • Chest height, landscape, level with the horizon. Wipe the lens.
  • Record in 4K 30 fps (or 1080p 60). Tap and hold on the car to lock focus and brightness.
  • Good light: daylight or all workshop lights on. Avoid a strong light behind the car.
  • Tidy the bay. Switch on Do Not Disturb and check you have free storage.

2 · The car drives in

  • Phone steady at the side of the entrance, wide enough to see the whole car.
  • Start recording 3 seconds before the car enters and keep going 3 seconds after it stops in the bay.
  • The driver goes slowly. No people in the frame unless they agreed.

3 · A clean shot underneath

  • The car is on the lift. Lie the phone (or the camera) low and slide slowly from front to back, two passes.
  • Light the underside with a lamp or the phone torch. Wipe the lens, oil splashes ruin the shot.
  • Hold still for two seconds at the key parts: suspension, exhaust, oil pan, brakes.

4 · The inspector at work, from the back seat

  • Place the camera on the rear seat, behind the driver, looking over the shoulder of the inspector who sits in the driver seat with the computer diagnostic tool.
  • We do not need to read the diagnostic screen. We want a calm, good-looking shot: 10 to 15 seconds.
  • Keep the VIN, number plate and personal details out of the frame.

5 · Damaged or repainted parts: closer, and clear which part

  • First a wide shot so the viewer sees where on the car the part is.
  • Then a close shot (10 to 15 cm), steady, 8 to 10 seconds. Point with a finger or a pen so it is clear what we are looking at.
  • For repaint, show the paint edge and how light moves over the panel. Say the part name out loud, or write it on the clip name.

6 · Customer interview (optional, strongly recommended)

  • An honest customer voice is very strong content. No face and no personal information is needed or wanted.
  • Film from behind, the hands, or the car, never the face. No name, phone number or plate on screen.
  • Ask three things: why did you want an inspection, what did we find, would you recommend it? 20 to 40 seconds.
  • Always ask for the customer’s OK before you record.

7 · Sound that sounds professional

  • Put the microphone 15 to 20 cm from the speaker’s mouth. Even a phone voice recorder held there beats the phone far away.
  • Quiet corner, away from compressors, tools and wind. Record 10 seconds of silence first, then speak slowly.
  • Do a 5-second test and listen with headphones before the real take.

8 · The shoot map

  • 1 Steady phone, drive-in. 2 Underneath. 3 Exterior walk-around (slow circle). 4 Inspector from the back seat. 5 Close-ups of damage or repaint. 6 Interview, no face.
  • A good 30-second reel: drive-in (4 s) · underneath (5 s) · inspector (5 s) · close-up (6 s) · result with the customer’s hands (5 s) · logo end (5 s).

9 · Good and not so good

  • Good: steady, well lit, clean background, one idea per clip, clear sound.
  • Not good: shaky, backlit, a messy bay, long rambling clips, wind or machine noise.
  • Clips of 10 to 45 seconds are perfect. We edit, add the logo and music.

10 · Equipment and rewards (coming soon)

  • Coming soon: the Cardiagnos Creator kit for inspectors who complete this course from our page: a DJI microphone, a phone stand and a small light.
  • Star targets: reach inspection targets and win gifts such as the latest iPhone and microphone accessories to help you make even better content and win more customers. Targets will be announced soon.

How to send your clips

  • After your report is approved, open Share content in the app, pick the customer and upload the clips.
